I tried searching around for an I/O redirector but didn't really come up
with anything :-(

Is it possible to use an I/O redirector when running the commands?

Thank you for the quick reply!!! That is exactly what is
happening...apparently many win32 console applications don't print to the
stdout, rather to the "console". I just tried out CopSSH and unfortuantly
got the same results :-( If anyone could remember how to fix this problem
it would be greatly appreciated!

Mike...

I apologize for the lack of details, but hopefully this response will get
you pointed in the right direction.

This is a KI with OpenSSH. There are several threads on this issue a few
years ago. I am sorry that my fatigue and lack of memory isn't providing
more information. However as I recall there is a limited workaround.

The applications aren't 'freezing' they are just unable to 'print' their
output back to the command line.

Hopefully you can find the original threads or someone with a better memory
can answer this for you.

The CopSSH may have corrected the problem ...

Subject: OpenSSH (Windows XP and 2k3) Problem

Hello!

I seem to be having an issue with OpenSSH for Windows. I have it installed
and it is working on both my Windows XP machine and Windows 2k3 Server
machine. I can access both perfectly from any ssh client. However, the
problem I am having is when I try to exectue a program on the command line
which requires user input, such as ftp, sftp, or bsflite (a shell-based
aim). Basically, what happens is the program I want to use is executed, then
asks for an initial set of input. I type in the input, press enter, and then
it just hangs. Nothing happens.

Commands such as ping, ipconfig, etc. work just fine. It's just the ones
that require user input that seem to "freeze". Also, all of these programs
(sftp, ftp, and bsflite) work perfectly from the local command line and also
via telnet (which I am trying to phase out).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Mike Del Pozzo
