RE: problems installing copssh on win2k3

Jon:

I have uninstalled copSSH and deleted the copSSH directory from D:\Program Files\ and conducted the search for "cygwin1.dll" on the server, two appear.

1. C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache
2. C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\exdee

Yet i still cannot install copSSH. I have no yet installed cygwin distribution. Should i at this point? I assumed the cygwin stuff was packaged with copSSH? If i should go ahead with the distribution install, what packages are required?

Thanks,

Hi Alan,
The key to your issue is here:
"This problem is probably due to using incompatible versions of the cygwin
DLL.
Search for cygwin1.dll using the Windows Start->Find/Search facility and
delete all but the most recent version. The most recent version *should*
reside in x:\cygwin\bin, where 'x' is the drive on which you have installed
the cygwin distribution. Rebooting is also suggested if you are unable to
find another cygwin DLL."
To fix this, do what it says, and look for the most recent entry for the DLL
and delete all others. I suspect you may have two or more Cygwin based
programs installed on your system.
If that doesn't work, come back to the list, and we can try and work it
through with you.
Regards,
Jon
