SSH LOG question

Hi
When i launch my ssh server under windows 2k , by using the sshd.exe
directly (and not cygrunsrv), it works but i have a weird problem i have no
log from the different connection on that server , the lastlog stay blank
the same for opsshd.log
i check the rights on those file and i can write , so i do not understand

It s a problem , without log i can no check who and when people connect on
that server
please help me
