I'm not sure about the multithreading, I'm using WinSCP3 and I didn't
change any settings other than to use SSH2 and no compression. I'm glad
to hear that other people are finding that sFTP is slower which proves
to me that it's not just my system/setup...
For regular ftp I use WsFtp and it seems to be faster than when going
through SSH with WinSCP3. My comparison is from my home Ethernet
hardwired network so the internet and ISP's DSL speed should not affect
the tests. Regular ftp is definitely faster without all the encryption
work used for SSH. Seems like Nico Tripcevich is essentially doing the
same kind of tests and getting similar results.
