Sander,
Just as some information, here are the owner and permissions I have on
my main PC that runs sshd as a service. Note that the service runs under
the SYSTEM account, and thus the host keys etc have to be owned by SYSTEM.
[502]zzalsaca@aca-vnt$ ls -l /etc/ssh*
-rw-r--r-- 1 SYSTEM None 1049 Apr 11 2003 /etc/ssh_config
-rw------- 1 SYSTEM None 668 Apr 11 2003
/etc/ssh_host_dsa_key
-rw-r--r-- 1 SYSTEM None 607 Apr 11 2003
/etc/ssh_host_dsa_key.pub
-rw------- 1 SYSTEM None 532 Apr 11 2003 /etc/ssh_host_key
-rw-r--r-- 1 SYSTEM None 336 Apr 11 2003
/etc/ssh_host_key.pub
-rw------- 1 SYSTEM None 883 Apr 11 2003
/etc/ssh_host_rsa_key
-rw-r--r-- 1 SYSTEM None 227 Apr 11 2003
/etc/ssh_host_rsa_key.pub
-rw-r--r-- 1 SYSTEM None 2135 Apr 11 2003 /etc/sshd_config
[503]zzalsaca@aca-vnt$
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Tony.
