questions with openssh on win2k

win2k SP2
1. How come when I launch opensshd service it opens a command prompt
window and when I close the window the service dies?

2. I can ssh onto the winders box from my mac but when i issue commands
like ping traceroute etc...a new command prompt opens on the windows
box and the stdout appears there and not in my remote shell?
