What does
cat /etc/group
show you?

Is there a SYSTEM?

mkgroup tells you what groups XP knows about, but /etc/group tells you
what Cygwin knows about.

Nope, that didn't work either.

bash-2.05b$ chown SYSTEM:SYSTEM skel
chown: `SYSTEM:SYSTEM': invalid group

And here is this output showing that the group exists.

bash-2.05b$ mkgroup -l
SYSTEM:S-1-5-18:18:
None:S-1-5-21-1957994488-839522115-1343024091-513:513:
Administrators:S-1-5-32-544:544:

Here is the output showing the user exists. I am confused.

bash-2.05b$ mkpasswd -lg
SYSTEM:*:18:544:,S-1-5-18::
Administrators:*:544:544:,S-1-5-32-544::

Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.
