Ok, I've got the latest Cygwin packages, including all the OpenSSH stuff.
I can run SSHD manually, but can't get the service to start using
cygrunsrv. It seems a bunch of people are having this problem on the
list, and I tried a few things to no avail.
I've followed the directions here
(http://tech.erdelynet.com/cygwin-sshd.asp) for the most part, except that
I'm using passwords instead of keyfiles for now. I can ssh to localhost
or from a remote host as long as I started sshd manually.
When I try to start the service using 'cygrunsrv -S sshd', I get this:
cygrunsrv: Error starting a service: QueryServiceStatus: Win32 error
1062:
The service has not been started.
If I use the Services applet, XP tells me "The Cygwin SSHD service on
Local Computer started then stopped."
I couldn't find a log with any useful error messages.
Does anyone have any ideas?
thx
-hal
