I haven't updated my site in a while (been WAY busy). But, you don't
have to do the setfacl stuff anymore and bash certainly does work.

But, you're either not using NTFS or you are not setting the CYGWIN
variable to include ntsec. It's worded that way because the CYGWIN
variable can contain multiple settings (CYGWIN=ntsec tty).

Hi all,

I've followed the instructions on the website for getting sshd up and
running on my WinXP machine. (ssh-host-config, cygrunsrv -I, and I did
setfacl as described in the XP notes.) I'm running the latest stable
version of Cygwin. I can start sshd from the command line and it works
fine. However, I can't seem to get it to start as a service.

>From the Services Windows application, it starts and immediately
stops. Using "cygrunsrv -S sshd", I get "cygrunsrv: Error starting a
service: QueryServiceStatus: Win32 error 1062: The service has not
been started".

I think the problem might be the permissions on the keys. I tried
doing a chown and chmod, but ls -l still reports that Administrator
owns the file instead of System. I opened the properties of the files
using explorer and removed everyone from the ACL except system, and
set the permissions to read and write only. Now when I do ls -l I get
755/Admin.

P.S. Bash seems to work okay for me, contrary to the XP notes...
