erdelynet.comerdelynet.com has a new theme.

I was browsing some WordPress themes and found one I really liked: Blue Curves. I modified it a little bit to suit my needs, but the basic theme really looks good to me. Thanks, Tech Wench.

So… what do you think? Here’s a screenshot of the old theme. Leave comments to let me know which you like better.

As you’ve probably noticed, I like blue. I’ve always liked blue. This new theme has enough blue in it to make me happy.

Go Terps!I’ve decided to add a University of Maryland category. Holly and I and Holly’s sister (Heather) and her husband (Chris) all went there. Holly’s dad went there. Holly and I met there. Her sister met her husband there. Holly has three degrees from Maryland (BS, MS & PhD).

We’re all huge Maryland sports fans and follow football and men’s and women’s basketball. We try to get to campus to catch games whenever we can. As I mentioned, Holly and I even found a way to watch the Women’s NCAA Final while in Mexico where the Terps because 2006 National Champions.

OpenBSDI’ve finally finished moving erdelynet.com to a new server. It’s slightly faster. The biggest benefit, though, is that I’m now hosting erdelynet.com in my house. I now have business-class FiOS service through Verizon. With that, I get static IP addresses and they don’t block any ports.

Access to email and my web site should feel a little faster because I’ve got a 15/2 Mbps pipe all for erdelynet.com. Previously I was sharing a T1 (1.5/1.5 Mbps) with other customers of the ISP.

Enjoy the new bandwidth!

It has 4 USB 2.0 ports and a firewire port. It has an Airport (which I’m not using) for wireless access and a 10/100/1000 Ethernet port (which was NICE for transferring data from my PowerBook at 1 Gbps. (more…)
